What is the meaning of a certificate? Maybe it is a way for proving/quantifying personal qualities.

No matter it is for job hunting, advancement opportunities, enrollment in the perfect kindergarten, for better reputation or even just in case for future needs, people have such a mentality that “we better have more certificates on hand!”

Hong Kong people very treasure certificates, which have the nature of ensuring specific personal qualities, people may invest much for getting different kinds of them. The action of getting certificates, which is a tool for proving/quantifying personal qualities, is a process to achieve (to shape yourself to) other parties’ specific standard/tradition.

O! Cert! is a project to let buyers to buy any certificates that they think they worth it, and set the name of the certificate by themselves. Buyers may qualify themselves care-free on other’s standard or recognition. The project brings the buyers to a unique kind of self-reorganization, and let them re-think about the “Buying Certificate Phenomenon”.

一紙証書意義何在？或許算是一種把個人技能、特質量化的方式，證明各人自身所有。

無論是用以求職、提高晉升機會、申請入讀心儀幼兒園、取得個人榮譽甚或只是以備不時之需，大眾都抱有一種“多一張証書才好”的心態。

合格証／奬狀／證書等有特定保證效用的文件於當下香港很被大眾重視。以致不少人會花錢進修，希望多有一張畢業証書，表明自己擁有特定資格、身分、學識或技巧。証書被看為一種量化／呈現各人獨有素質之工具。而得取証書也往往是一個需要達至／迎合他人特定要求的過程。

O!証狀! 計劃讓各人購買一張自訂內容的証書，由自己肯定自己的特質，同時讓思考延伸至買家的自我認知，“証書市場現象”等課題。
